XRD takes you into the gorgeous crystal world
2024-03-22 23:00XRD, is short for X-ray diffraction, as a material person, no matter what material is done, XRD is the most commonly used, the most basic means of characterization. What can we do with XRD data refinement?
1. Phase identification:
By comparing the peak position and peak strength of the standard material in the standard library, the material can be preliminarily qualitative to determine the name of the material, chemical formula and other information.
2. Crystal grain size, crystallinity analysis:
The grain size of the material is often a key factor in determining the performance of the material. Through x-ray diffraction refining, the grain size of the material can be accurately obtained, which guides the optimization of the performance of the material.
3. Bond length, bond Angle, atom occupation and occupancy:
The bond length and bond Angle between the atoms in the crystal structure, as well as the occupation of the atoms, affect the structure of the crystal, and these data can be obtained by x-ray diffraction refining, so that we can draw a three-dimensional map of the crystal structure, so that our materials are more intuitive in front of us.
4. Quantitative analysis of multiphase materials:
Materials often contain two or more phases, and the mass fraction of each phase in the entire material can be accurately calculated by XRD refinement.
